Kona and Tessa Sleepover

sleeping-kona This is sleeping Kona, Tessa’s best friend. It’s been a hectic weekend with two dogs playing non-stop in and outside of the house!  Kona is a yellow lab, less than a year old and outweighs Tessa by close to 20 lbs.  She doesn’t know, however, that she is more petite than her friend… she still likes to boss him around and make sure he remembers who the boss is around here.

Aside from a couple of rambunctious dogs, our weekend was uneventful.  Kona and Tessa did join us on a few LONG walks both around our neighborhood and into the next neighborhood.  Still, it wasn’t anything that would tire these two dogs out.

O.K. So, I am wasting a bunch of time this weekend playing around with all these social networking tools that I have never really used (despite designing websites for the last three years!!).

So, here’s my first blog post from a flickr photo. This photo was taken when my sister and her family (Tiff, Tracy, and Lex) all came to visit and we went to Seaworld.

Meet our dog, Tessa

O.K. She doesn’t know she’s a dog; what are you going to do?

Well, we have had Tessa about 2.5 years and she loves being pampered. We found Tessa at the local animal shelter here in San Antonio; she was scared, tired and cold (yes, it can get cold if you are outside in the winter in Texas…I didn’t say below freezing, but still cold).

Tessa saw us walking through the adult dog kennels and made eye contact.  She knew she had to impress us in order to go home with us that night. So, she looked at me, made a couple of loops around her little pen and then sat down like a little lady in her kennel…keeping her eyes locked on mine.  So, her little tricks worked and we took her home!

She does not have to spend the nights outside any longer…she now sleeps on our bed at my feet :)
