I’m back!

I didn’t actually go anywhere, I just haven’t been blogging lately.  So, I’m back to my blog :)

Things here in Texas have been going great.  Last week was extremely busy at work; it was graduation so we had a full week of events.  Last Wednesday night I watched a vocal recital by one of our graduating seniors, Stephanie Lamprea, who will be going to the Manhattan School of Music.  Her voice is incredible.  I took my camera and created a little movie; it is on the TMI flickr page at:   http://www.flickr.com/photos/tmiepiscopal (it is located under the vocal recital set).  The other thing I’ll mention here is that I did not use a tripod to film this movie; however, iMovie (from Apple) has a new feature in their iLife 09 that stabilizes video…it is an incredible feature.

So, that was last Wed.  On Friday, we had Baccalaureate.  Now, I had no idea what that was…but, when I got there, I found out it was a special Eucharist church service.  I think the Mormons hold the record for the longest services, but this one was about an hour and a half…perhaps a close second ;)

Finally, on Saturday evening we had graduation.  Our graduating class of 63 seniors have graduated from TMI-The Episcopal School of Texas and have also brought in over $4 million dollars in scholarship offers.  We have an incredible academic program and some incredible kids :)  I also shot some video of graduation, but haven’t had a chance to view it yet.

So that brought the week to a close.  We are now settling into our summer routine at the school.

Both of our puppies are doing well.  However, we lost one of our ferrets about a week and a half ago.  Tazzi was an old ferret, about 7.5 years.  Since ferrets typically live about 7 seven years, she lived a full and active life.  She had become really sick and we believe she had a stroke.  Rexi, the little brown ferret, seems to be doing pretty good.  She’s about 2 years younger and is still active and happy.

Now that we’re back to a normal routine, I’ll get back into my blogging!  I’ve really embraced the social networking…not only do I have my blog, I also have flickr, facebook, linked in, and I twitter at TMI!
