A terrible thing has just happened!

Puggy has been returned to his owners Puggy had an unregistered
microchip and I took him to the vet today; I registered his chip under
my name and info. Apparently the owners knew his chip number and
called the Home Again service and reported the lost dog. They had to
get a third party involved (they could not give my info directly to
someone else) so the police were put on lost dog duty.

The real owners had been out of town and some bartenders were watching
the dog. The HOA took down the sign I made and put at the gate and
even though I sent a mass email through the HOA, no one was claiming
him. So, the owners actually live just down the street from us and
they love and missed Puggy terribly. And, I found out his real name
is Buster. So, I put back on his longhorn bandana and left him with
his new collar and turned him over. Buster actually does have a
collar but he wasn’t wearing it because he had just gotten a bath.

At least he’s going back to a good home and since they live close we
can go visit our new friend. I also offered to Puggy-sit (Buster-sit)
if they went on vacation again
